Hello from the Darling house. I got here on Wednesday, and am going to be here until Friday or Saturday. It's been a good time getting to know my new nephew, Elijah Cole, and playing various games with the ever energetic Andrew. Well, it's actually not true that he's always energetic, because he's had a few meltdowns lately due to sleep deprivement. A few days ago, we packed a picnic dinner, then headed to Wescott Bay (or Harbor, or Beach; I don't excactly remember). There, we grilled and ate cheddar-wurst and beer-wurst sausages. The cheddar-wurst is like a hot dog with melted cheese inside, and the beer-wurst is like a slightly alcaholic saugage. I liked the first, but not the second, since sausage makes me feel sick. Anyway, after dinner, I took Andrew down the lakeside, which had sand at the edge (and it's lake Ontario, so it's kind of like the Ocean). He threw rocks and sand into the lake while I waded in up to my waist. One word of advice for Todlers with sand and rocks: Stay out of throwing range. They will hit you if the opportunity arises. I waded in with Andew a little, but he didn't like it as much as I did. Since it was the evening, it wasn't hot enough to actually swim, but fourtunately, we went back the next day when it was STIFELING!! Sunday, we went to Water Safari (YES). It was great. This morning, we went to an Aqua Zoo with Faith's Stay At Home Mom's Group. They had all kinds of fish, a small freshwater dolphin (smaller than my forearm), an octopus, and three sharks in this big tank. It was really freaky staring at them swimming behind the glass, just imagining what it would be like to be stranded in the middle of the ocean with one of these villanous creatures. Well, I'm probably boring you with this long post, so I'll end it.
